Eben's room-Mostly done
Finally got Eben's room done. There are still some little things to be done and the bathroom's not completely finished. But we're really happy with the way in came out. Eben spent his first night in it last night and he loves it. We still have to put the glow in the dark paint on the ceiling for stars.

Eben picked the color...true blue, I think it was. It's a perfect color for a seven year old boy's room.

The master bedroom
I love this room! It's huge and there's something soothing about it, I don't know what it is exactly. There's a king-sized bed (LOVE it!) and ginourmous planks for the floor. It's illegal now to cut trees that big for flooring, but when the house was built, it wasn't. It's hard to believe that these planks came from a tree cut lengthwise. Also, the skylight in the room is directly over me when I sleep. That means I can see the stars or lightning or listen to the rain.
The little sleigh bed is where Eben is currently sleeping until we get his room ready. As a result of him being there, we haven't placed any furniture in the right spots yet.

Eben's room...the first big project
This is going to be Eben's room. It started out as an attic, but I fell in love with it when I saw it. When we came into the house for the first time, we told Ebs that he could pick out whatever room he wanted for his bedroom...and he chose this one. It's perfect for a kid. It has a skylight as well as a little room with a window in the back. Soon it will also have it's own bathroom. I'm calling that bathroom the ladies room as the roof slants in such a way as to make peeing standing up (for an adult anyway) next to impossible. We're going to install another skylight over the toilet soon, so that won't ultimately be a problem. New pics of this room coming soon. Sadly, I didn't take pictures when we first started, so these pics are mid-construction, with the floors and the drywall already in place.

These are pictures of the various other rooms in the house, not counting Eben's room (way under construction) and the master bedroom. Those are coming up soon.
Please bear in mind that we are not even remotely unpacked. There is crap everywhere. I decided to post pictures of what it looks like now so that the AFTER photos will look that much more dramatically wonderful With the exception of the kitchen, no room in the house even has the furniture placed in their proper spots yet.

I'm posting these pics for those people who might be interested. This is the house we just moved into...lots of work ahead, but I love it! I also thought that maybe everyone could see from the pictures why I've been so damn busy and out of communication. We haven't (obviously) unpacked most of the stuff we need to. Fresh pics of completed rooms will come eventually and we'll have good comparison shots. We're concentrating on finishing Eben's room first. I didn't get pics of that room when it was really rough. By the time I got my camera operational, George had already done the floor and most of the drywall.
The house is an old Cape farmhouse, built in the 1800's. There's another more modern house on our property but we're renting it out. I'll get pics of those eventually but I didn't want to invade the renters privacy!
