The new digs...Property shots

The barn
Our makeshift temporary dog pen

View all 10 photos...
This poor house is in need of some work, but it's going to look spectacular! These are some property shots. We didn't take pictures of the property before we started work on it, but this is it in progress. We chopped down some old dying cedars, and yanked lots of ugly yews. Another thing to go was the giant, rose vine that was out to kill me as I was taming the wysteria a bit. I really can't stand thorns, and while we beat that rose eventually, it went out fighting and left me bleeding. We have lots of landscaping ideas but that will mostly have to wait until spring.

Care to comment?

Okay, so everyone is probably going to hate this but I got a new puppy! His name is Farley and he's a Pembroke Welsh Corgi. He's 14 weeks right now and is BY FAR the best dog I've ever had. He's also damn photogenic and I can't help it. I've been taking lots of puppy pics and now I've got to share them.

And YES, I know I've been gone for a long time. I'm a loser. But now I'm a prodigal loser!

Eensey-weensey however you spell it...you get the idea.

Long-legged Daddy-o spider
This guy was hanging out on my flowers and dodged me for awhile until I got this shot. I would have futzed a little more to get a better one...but hey! It was raining on my camera and we all have our limits, right?

I like the spelling of "futzed"! Another favorite of mine is "stuph." As in, "I have way too much stuph." Hookd on fonicks werked fer mee! Tue 10-Aug-2004 23:26

Frog legs!

This guy was really reluctant to be photographed. He was spastically jumping almost constantly, it was dark, and I had no time to focus or adjust anything. I was afraid my subject was going to go into cardiac arrest if I didn't leave him alone so here's what I was left with. Not too thrilling, but hey! Who doesn't like to see a nice green frog every now and again?

Damn Nice shot in 2...! Fri 6-Aug-2004 04:14

The first pic is one my soon-to-be 5 year old took, playing with my camera. I'm posting it because I LOVE that he captured my irritated look upon finding him messing with it.

The second pic is when I accidentally transformed my kid into a dog, immediately after finding him playing with my camera.

The third is my son getting blasted by his neighbor as they were shooting each other through holes in our privacy fence.

The fourth pic is my son preparing to take revenge on the neighbor who just zapped him. Check out the look of pure evil glee in his face. Sheesh. I don't know where he gets it.

wow amber you havnt changed a bit....guess who......... Mon 16-Aug-2004 20:36

Long Time No Post

Glasswing butterfly--amazing
View all 4 photos...
I've been hoping for a summer full of empty, lazy days and have been crazed instead. I'm going to try to hang around here a little more often, though, and check up on all of you who have been checking up on me (thanks!!).

With the exception of the shot of our local nutty chipmunk (who lives to terrorize my dog), these shots were all taken in a butterfly garden outside of Amherst, MA. It was an amazing place to be. Heart-stoppingly beautiful butterflies everywhere, along with amazing flowers and breath-stealing humidity!

Wow .....
These are great !!!!!

Iris Study

Finally! My damn iris blooms! The only way you'll get any thrills from these at all is if you enlarge them. Ooooo...sparkly!
